Issue #17 15th October 2025
Principal's Update
Welcome back to our final term for 2025! I hope that you all enjoyed a happy and relaxing break from the school routine. Term 4 is always a busy one: our school calendar was sent home last term, and can also be found further down in this newsletter. Reminder: First day for Years 1-6 Thursday 29th January 2026. First day for Kinder Friday 30th January 2026.
Date Correction: The calendar incorrectly stated that World Teacher's Day and the World Teacher's Day Liturgy would be in Week 4. Both are one week earlier, in Week 3; the liturgy will be held at 9.00am assembly on Thursday 30th October, with World Teachers Day being celebrated on Friday 31st October. It's a wonderful opportunity for your child to say 'thank you' to their teacher for what they do each day.
Building works Over the holidays, builders have completed the demolition of the Year 6 stairs next to the oval and have started the foundations of the pillars that will eventually hold our new two-storey classes. The kids have been enjoying watching the work happen through the fences during their lunch times. Here are a few photos of some of the visible changes.

Arriving at school Our school's pedestrian gates are closed each afternoon at 3.40pm, and are opened each morning at 8.10am. Securing our school out of school hours enables increased safety for our children and school grounds, so that a child is not on the school site unknown. Sometimes, we have children arrive at school well before most staff have arrived. No children should be arriving at school prior to 8.10am. Supervision from staff does not begin until 8.30am. If you child needs to arrive earlier than 8.10am, please call Tania in OOSH to arrange care before school.
Gala Days Next Wednesday our Year 3 and Year 4 students will attend their Soccer Gala Day at Tuggerah. We also have students from Years 3-6 who nominated to attend the Rugby 9s Gala Day at Doyalson to be held next Wednesday also. We hope you all have a fantastic day, we know you will be terrific representatives for our school.

Congratulations Last term, Lenny K represented NSW in Coffs Harbour for OzTag. Lenny is a quiet achiever, and his determination and relentless effort on the field earned him this amazing opportunity to represent our state. We’re incredibly proud of Lenny, well done!
Moments that Matter Next term, Victoria our Parent Engagement Coordinator, will be hosting a number of afternoon sessions here at school, to connect families with each other and the parish. The flyer is below. Please call Victoria here at our school office for more information or register your interest through this link.

There will be some light refreshments before Mass. We will finish the evening with Mass. If you would like a reading please contact Mrs Kyle.
Catholic Mission - Socktober
This Friday 17th October we will have our final fundraiser for Catholic Mission. We encourage all students to come to school wearing crazy socks. To support Catholic Mission we ask all students who wear crazy socks to donate a gold coin to support this charity.
The theme this year is "Missionaries of Hope Among all Peoples" and the focus country is Zambia. Over the next three weeks our students will be exploring the work of Catholic Mission in Zambia and making a soccer ball out of recyclable materials like they would do in Zambia. Students will have the opportunity to empathise with the Zambian children and reflect on how blessed they are.
Our Year 6 students will play soccer against the teachers on Friday to celebrate Crazy Sock Day. All other grades will play soccer with their grade or stages.

This year we will be holding a liturgy on Thursday 30th October to celebrate World Teacher's Day. This will begin at 9am following morning assembly. Please join us on the top playground to celebrate our teachers.

Sister Sister - A Celebration of Faith and Sisterhood
Last Term, 85 women gathered in the parish hall for a beautiful evening of faith, life, and sisterhood. Our guest speaker, Karen Amos, inspired us to pause and breathe amidst the busyness of life, offering reflections that touched many hearts.
The evening was filled with warmth, laughter, and connection. We shared a light supper and indulged in scrumptious desserts, all while deepening our spiritual bonds and celebrating the gift of community.
We’d love to hear from you! If you attended, please consider sharing a short testimony or reflection. Scan the QR code below to submit your thoughts and be notified about our next gathering.
We would also like to thank our many sponsors and volunteers who made the evening such a success. We look forward to seeing you at our next Sister Sister event.
