Principal's Update
Mother’s Day
We wish all of the mums, grandmothers, mothers-to-be and mother-figures a happy Mother’s Day for Sunday. I am sure you will be spoilt!
Our Mother’s Day stall this morning was a huge success! With almost 1000 gifts purchased, there were many excited children. A huge thank you to Maria and the Parent Team for organising the stall and preparing the gifts.
Our Mother’s Day breakfast, liturgy and netball game are on this Friday. Thank you to the many parents who will give up their time to help cook, prepare and serve brekky to our mums. Particular thanks to Tenille, Corrine and Eileen on our PIP Team for organising the morning. Our liturgy has a revised start time of 10am (due to Parish Mass on until 9.45am) and we welcome everyone to join us. Immediately following the liturgy we will have our Year 6 vs Mums netball game, all mums are invited to bring along some joggers and join in.

Winter Uniform
Our Winter Uniform is compulsory from next Monday 15th May. Please ensure children are in the correct uniform: the correct school shirt, pants or tunic, tie, socks/stockings and black leather shoes. Please also check that your children do not have necklaces on, only small earrings, natural hair colour only and hair tied back if below shoulder length (boys and girsl). Thank you for your support.
Soccer Gala Day
There has been a change of date for our Year 5/6 Gala Day. It was to be held on 2nd of June, it is now to be held on June 23rd.
As an important member of our Catholic Schools Broken Bay community, we would like to invite parents to take part in a survey that will help shape the culture of your child’s school. The survey will identify and check the alignment between our personal values, the values/behaviours currently experienced, and the values that you believe are most important for the development of our school system. There are no right or wrong answers. Conducted by external experts, Peak Performance International, the survey is anonymous, and the results will be aggregated and analysed. It takes about 10 minutes to finish and needs to be completed in one sitting. We also suggest you complete the survey on a laptop or tablet screen rather than a small mobile screen. The survey will be open until 12 May. Click here Catholic Schools Broken Bay Culture Survey to access the survey site.

Sports
Congratulations Elizabeth C - NSW All Schools 13yrs 50m Freestyle Champion
St Mary's Toukley is lucky enough to have a NSW Gold Medallist in its midst. Elizabeth moved from CCC to Broken Bay to Polding to NSW All Schools. Every time she swam she improved her time. She is the fastest primary school 13yrs 50m freestyle swimmer in NSW. What an achievement for a beautiful young lady!!!!
Congratulations Archie W - Polding Team for Hockey
St Mary's is so proud of Archie. Archie is only in Year 3 and had to play against boys up to 12years. Archie was told he would not be strong enough to compete against the best from Northern NSW Catholic schools. He gave it a go making the Possibles/Probables game. From there selectors were very impressed with what they saw and chose him to be a part of the Polding team to play in the NSW All Schools competition in Tamworth next month. Best wishes Archie!
Polding Rugby League Trials - Tamworth
Congratulations Abel N, Byron H, Sonny I (11yrs Broken Bay Team) and Koby D (Open Broken Bay Team). These boys were all selected last term to play as part of the Broken Bay Team in the Polding trials. These trials involved representative teams from Catholic Schools all over Northern NSW. Abel, Byron, Sonny and Koby travelled to Tamworth to train with the team and then play 5 games on Friday. The Open team won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 2. The 11yrs team won every game with many of their team selected for Polding. Coaches of the boys reported that they played solidly all day, tackled very well and worked hard for their team mates. Team work will take you far in life! What a great effort Boys!
