Principal's Update
Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you had an enjoyable break, the weather was perfect, I've heard many stories from the children already obout their busy and fun adventures.
Athletics Carnival
Go Red! Well done to everyone for particiapting so well at our carnival. Thank you to our amazing parent helpers and St Brigid's helpers who ensured the day ran so smoothly, and also to Mrs Bain for organising such a fun day. Children, your behaviour and attitude were outstanding, you should all be congratulated, the teachers were all so impressed by you.
Grandparent's Day
Next Friday 28th July, we celebrate Grandparent's Day. An invitation has gone home, and is also attached later in the newsletter. Due to the numbers of people who attend our school for the day (250+ grandparents in addition to our 540+ students) it has become impossible to share a liturgy together in the church - we simply don't fit. This year, our liturgy will be live streamed into every classroom. Children will stay in their own classroom and grandparents will be able to choose a grandchild's classroom to attend for the 15 minute liturgy (12.00pm-12.15pm). At the conclusion of the liturgy we will have Open Classrooms (12.15pm-1.00pm), children will be able to share their learning and do some colouring with their grandparents at this time. At 1pm, we invite grandparents to share lunch with their grandchildren. Grandparents are invited to bring a sandwich to have at lunchtime. Our PIP team will also be providing a 'light lunch' of sandwiches and slices that grandparents are also welcome to enjoy. The day will conclude at lunch time. If a grandparent is taking their granchild home early, the children will need to be signed out at the office and should have written permission from a parent that this can occur. Please note, in the event of wet weather, the day may need to be cancelled.
We are still needing more helpers to provide food for the 'light lunch' for our grandparents to share, and particularly to help set up and serve the food. If you can assist in any way please sign up using the link. If you are able to help with catering, please use the ‘sign up’ link to register your
support. LINK: https://signup.com/go/CwcXNGQ

Flu and sickness
With a lot of illness, Influenza and general sickness in our community at the moment, please remember that if your child has a runny nose, sore throat, headache or fever, the best place for them is at home until they are symptom free. This ensures that germs aren't spread to others in our school community.
